Eastern Gateway Community College breaks the cost barrier to higher education for Jefferson County high school graduates! Our Horizon Grant allows qualified Jefferson County high school graduates to attend tuition free if they enroll by fall after graduation.

The qualified graduate must apply and use available financial aid first (use the FAFSA form).

The grant covers tuition charges only for credit courses for four successive semesters of attendance, providing the student enrolls full time starting with the fall semester immediately after high school graduation. A student may attend full time in the summer, and this counts towards the four successive semesters.

Horizon Grant students may come from a state-chartered, public, or private high school, or approved home school program.

A one-mill Jefferson County levy makes this tuition-free Horizon Grant possible for EGCC students living in Jefferson County.
